Through the Pongo de Manique

We reached the Pongo de Manique at dusk, which was frustrating photogenically, but I shot with the most light sensitive old analogue video which adds a foreboding mystique to the views. Towards the end of the blog we settled in on the shores of the river on a sandbank to camp for the night in our tents.

Here are the sequence of stills of the journey ... followed by our camp site as we arrived in the Amazon Basin.

In the morning by the time we woke up, some of the women were gutting fish the men had caught.
